Race for Life 2011

15 female members of staff from Alder Community High School ran the Race for Life on the 10th July 2011. The ladies had a brilliant day and are hoping to raise a lot of money for cancer Research. The elite runners were Miss Hill, Mrs Parker, Mrs Greenhalgh, Miss Davies, Mrs White, Mrs Brunt, Mrs Maden and ex pupil Ciara Graham and averaged an amazingly fast time of 30mins. The rest of the ladies walked the 5k around Heaton Park with thousands of other women in memory of loved ones. The walkers and Joggers were Mrs Crawford, Mrs Brunt, Mrs Eames, Mrs Derbyshire with her Grandaughter Kaydi, Mrs Rawsthorne, Mrs Haigh, Mrs Chapman and her Grandaughters Lucy and Jessica and Miss Howes. Mrs Simpson ran the 10k race a couple of days earlier. Pictured are just some of the ladies involved.

This coming Friday 15th July we will be continuing to raise money for Cancer Research in school. We will be holding many fun activities such as cake sale, staff v’s student football match, sweet sale and pink up your uniform for the day. So please bring along any spare change to join in.

Pink up your Uniform. Pupils have been asked to raise money to sponsor them to pink up their uniform on Friday 15th July. Pupils have a target of £5 but can donate anything from a £1 upwards. Pupils must wear their basic uniform which is:

Black Blazer

Black Trousers/Skirt

Black Shoes

School Tie.

They can then pink up anything else such as pink tights, socks, shirt etc. Pink Wigs and face paint is not allowed.
