Throughout February, we've been marking LGBT+ History Month across our school community. Last week, every year group participated in special assemblies led by Ms Sloan, Mr Doran, and Miss Marsh.

Our students explored:

Why LGBT+ History Month matters

The impact of Section 28 and its lasting significance

This year's theme: Science and Innovation, celebrating the contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals to these fields

Where to access support both in school and beyond

The assembly concluded with a reflection reminding students to remember that LGBT+ History Month isn't just about looking back at history, it's about shaping the future.  Students were asked to think about how they can contribute to making our school and community a more welcoming place for everyone.
